Each item of food has certain points allocated to it based on its nutritional value. More fat increases the points and more fibre reduces the points value.
A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, funded by Weight Watchers, found people who followed the Weight watchers Points program for two years lost an average of six pounds.
